Review:

I have waited years for this movie. I've loved the musical ever since I first heard the soundtrack. I've seen both the stage production and the movie. I can't compare the two, however, a play and a movie are two entirely different mediums. I do have to say I loved the movie. The costumes and sets were lush and vibrant, and really helped to make this movie. The characters were great, and developed very well. Gerard Butler did very well playing the Phantom. I could feel the emotion and pain in his performance that I just didn't quite feel when I saw the play. Minnie Driver as the opera diva, Carlotta, provides some good comic relief to the movie. This is a very well done movie, and well worth seeing again.

My Rating:
9/10
