Synopsis:

Longfellow Deeds (Adam Sandler) is a small town guy, who inherits a large stake in a major media corporation. Along the way, Deeds falls in love with a tabloid TV reporter (Winona Ryder) who is undercover, trying to get a hot story on him.

Review:

Flawed as it is, I think this movie is one of Adam Sandler's better movies... not his best, by any means, but still not too bad. The plot had good potential that it just never reached. First of all, there was the standard "CEO tries to wrest control of the company from the rightful owner" theme, which didn't quite work, as they really didn't develop the CEO's character, and really didn't show any real motivation for him to take control of the company. Also there was the fish out of water theme, with a small town guy in the big city, which just was not fully developed either. My advice would be to go ahead and see it if you're an Adam Sandler fan. Otherwise, it just isn't worth it.

My Rating:
6/10
