Good Morning Vietnam

Year: 1987
Director: Barry Levinson

Starring: Robin Williams, Forest Whitaker, Bruno Kirby, J.T. Walsh, Chintara Sukapatana

Synopsis:

An unorthodox D.J., Adrian Cronauer (Robin Williams) is assigned to Armed Forces Radio in Saigon during the Vietnam war. The troops love him, but the top brass are not amused by Cronauer's antics, and try to get rid of him. Based on a true story.

Review:

This is one of Robin Williams' best roles, where he gets to show off both his comedic and dramatic talent. The supporting cast also shines... Forest Whitaker as Cronauer's friend and guide, J.T. Walsh as the hard-nosed sergeant who is trying to get rid of Cronauer. Good Morning Vietnam is one of those rare movies that can be both funny and serious at the same time, and it does both extremely well.

My Rating:
9/10
