Year: 2005
Director: Mike Newell
Starring: Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, Rupert Grint, Ralph Fiennes
Synopsis:
Harry Potter (Daniel Radcliffe) is in his fourth year at Hogwarts. Despite being underaged, Harry is chosen to compete in a dangerous Tournament against students from other wizarding schools. At the same time, evidence is mounting that Lord Voldemort (Ralph Fiennes) is ready to rise again, and strike terror into the wizarding world.
Review:
I think this is one of the best movies of the series so far. The first two were great, and the third one was okay, but not as good. But this one definitely picks up the slack from Prisoner of Azkaban. The director and crew did a very good job of bringing the tasks of the Triwizard tournament from the book to the big screen, and the special effects were just great. Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, and Rupert Grint continue to grow along with their characters, and all three turn in excellent performances. The only complaint I have about this movie is that the beginning seemed a bit disjointed and fractured, jumping too quickly from scene to scene. I understand that with a book the size of Goblet Of Fire, that some of it needed to be cut, but I think those cuts could have been a bit smoother. But even so, this movie is a must see for Harry Potter or fantasy fans.
My Rating:
9/10
