Ghosts Of Mars

Year: 2001
Director: John Carpenter

Starring: Natasha Henstridge, Ice Cube, Pam Grier, Joanna Cassidy, Jason Statham

Synopsis:

Lieutenant Melanie Ballard (Natasha Henstridge) and her police unit have been dispatched to a mining outpost to transport a dangerous prisoner, Desolation Williams (Ice Cube), back to justice. When they arrive, they find that most of the inhabitants of the mining town have been possessed by the former inhabitants of Mars. Ballard and her team must team up with Desolation Williams and the few survivors of the town to fight off the Martian spirits, intent on eradicating human life from their planet.

Review:

Plenty of action, and the acting was adequate. What weakened the movie, was that it was done as a flashback, with Ballard recounting the encounter to an inquisition board; the flashback kills the suspense, as you know that she'll survive. All in all, it's an average movie, it isn't bad, but there is really nothing to make it stand out.

My Rating:
6/10
