The Lord Of The Rings: The Fellowship Of The RingYear: 2001 Synopsis: An ancient ring has found it's way into the hands of a young hobbit, Frodo Baggins (Elijah Wood). When the wizard Gandalf (Ian McKellan) finds that the ring is actually the One Ring. Frodo must make a journey to Mount Doom to destroy the ring, and prevent the Dark Lord Sauron from returning to power. Frodo, along with several companions set out on the long and dangerous journey to destroy the ring. Review: Visually, this is a very strong movie. The scenery and the sets are gorgeous, and they just make Middle Earth seem to be a real place, not just a fictional movie setting. The characters are not just one dimensional. The main characters are given a chance to develop, and even the supporting characters are more than just walking scenery, they have a purpose, and serve to develop the plot. Although there is plenty of action, it doesn't overwhelm the story. In between the battle scenes are plenty of chances for viewers to catch their breath, and wait for the next action sequence. I've never read the books, so I can't really compare the movies to them, but I think that this was a great start for the trilogy. My Rating: Rent Lord Of The Rings: The Fellowship Of The Ring At Netflix! |
