Death To Smoochy

Year: 2002
Director:
Danny DeVito
Starring: Robin Williams, Edward Norton, Danny DeVito

Synopsis:

After children's show host, Rainbow Randolph (Robin Williams) gets fired for taking bribes, he is replaced by a puffy purple rhino, Smoochy (Edward Norton). As Smoochy becomes more and more popular, Randolph plots to eliminate Smoochy. Things get more complicated as an Irish crime gang, a crooked agent (Danny DeVito) and a corrupt charity organization become involved.

Review:

For a dark comedy, this movie wasn't too bad, but in some ways, I just thought it was a little disturbing. The acting was pretty good, though. Robin Williams is great as Randolph, as he slides gradually towards insanity, and Edward Norton did a very good job playing the innocent and clean cut Smoochy.

My Rating:
5/10
