Big Fish

Year: 2003
Director: Tim Burton

Starring: Ewan McGregor, Albert Finney, Billy Crudup, Jessica Lange, Helena Bonham Carter

Synopsis:

A son, William Bloom (Billy Crudup), tries to learn more about his dying father, Ed Bloom (Albert Finney), by piecing together stories that his father had told. Most of the stories are either exaggerations or outright fictions. At the end, William does come to know his father through his imaginative stories about his life.

Review:

This is one of Tim Burton's best movies. The character development in Big Fish was great, especially Ed Bloom, through the fantastic stories that he had told his son. The wonderful characters and settings bring this film to life. It's easy to believe that (in the world of this film) the events that Ed had told his family actually had happened. This was just a wonderful movie, and wonderful storytelling.

My Rating:
9/10
