Review:
This is a good example of how comic books should be adapted to movies. Before I first saw this in the theaters in 1989, I had doubted casting Michael Keaton as Batman, but I have to admit that he did a great job with the role. As good as Michael Keaton was, though, Nicholson was better, the role of the Joker seemed to be written just for him. Tim Burton did an oustanding job directing this, and imbuing the whole movie with a neo-gothic feel. This movie may be over 15 years old, but the directors making the current batch of super-hero movies need to look to Batman as an example.
