Back To The Future

Year: 1985
Director: Robert Zemeckis

Starring: Michael J. Fox, Christopher Lloyd, Lea Thompson, Thomas Wilson, Crispin Glover

Synopsis:

Marty McFly (Michael J. Fox) is a typical teenager in the 1980's. His friend, Dr. Emmet Brown (Christopher Lloyd) has built a time machine from a DeLorean. One night, when Marty is helping Doc test the time machine, Libyan terrorists show up, and kill Dr. Brown. To avoid the same fate, Marty jumps into the DeLorean to escape, and accidentally ends up in 1955. After interfering with his parents meeting for the first time, Marty must try to bring his parents together, to save his own existence. In the meantime, Doc (from 1955) is working to get Marty back to the future.

Review:

Back To The Future is arguably one of the most popular movies of the 1980's. This is the movie that made Michael J. Fox famous (well, Family Ties probably helped too.) Christopher Lloyd was excellent as the slightly mad inventor of the time machine. Back To The Future is a very well done movie. It is definitely a comedy, but it does make you think about the implications of time travel. This is one of my favorite movies from the 80's, along with it's sequels.

My Rating:
9/10
