Apocalypse Now

Year: 1979
Director: Francis Ford Coppola

Starring: Martin Sheen, Marlon Brando, Robert Duvall, Dennis Hopper

Synopsis:

Captain Willard (Martin Sheen) is given orders to go into the jungles of Cambodia to assassinate Col. Kurtz (Marlon Brando), a renegade Green Beret who has gone insane. But as he travels through the jungles of Vietnam into Cambodia, the war sends Capt. Willard closer and closer to insanity himself.

Review:

And I thought Full Metal Jacket was twisted. This is one of those movies that gets inside your head and plays with your mind. Is Col. Kurtz really any more insane than anyone else fighting the war? Is he crazy, or is he a genius? Francis Ford Coppola did an excellent job directing this movie. It gets more and more intense with every scene, and it almost feels like you are there. Both Martin Sheen and Marlon Brando did an excellent job with their characters. I wouldn't recommend this movie for the faint of heart, but if you can handle it, then see it.

My Rating:
8/10
