Year: 2001
Director: Les Mayfield
Starring: Colin Farrell, Gabriel Macht, Scott Caan, Timothy Dalton
Synopsis:
A group of midwest ranchers return home from the Civil War to find that the railroad is trying to take their land. Some of the ranchers then seek revenge on the railroad, robbing banks, stealing the railroad's payroll, and destroying track. In the process, they become the object of a huge manhunt, which only increases the fame of the gang, and their leader, Jesse James (Colin Farrell).
Review:
This movie is to Jesse James what Young Guns was to Billy The Kid, it portrays the outlaw and his gang as heroes. I generally don't like westerns, but I liked this one. American Outlaws is a very entertaining movie, it has a good bit of action, with a little bit of humor to keep it from being too serious. While the acting is certainly not stellar, it is more than adequate. It's a good, entertaining movie, and I think you should see it.
My Rating:
8/10
